Bangchan General Assembly Co., Ltd. (BGAC) or being known as Bangchan General Assembly Plant was founded in 1970 by a Thai-American joint-venture (General Motors Ltd.). The Company is located on a 53 rais 3 ngans 66.9 sq.wahs within the Bangchan Industrial Estate area. Allowances were made in the initial plant design, to accommodate for future expansions to cater for increased market growth and component manufacture.

Modern low volume tooling and equipment including a waste water treatment plant to maintain environmental standards are being utilized in corporation with advanced technologist like Japanese, Australian, German and US technical expertises, the latest production techniques are being implemented in the assembly processes.

In response to the government’s policy to boost the Thai automotive industry at that time, BGAC started assembling passenger cars from imported kits in knocked-down form (CKD). In the year 1979, Thai-Japanese (Isuzu Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd.) were shareholders of BGAC. In the year 1987, the Japanese shareholder, Isuzu Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd., has been changed to Honda Cars (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Until 2005, Phranakorn Automobile Group became the sole shareholder of BGAC.

Since its establishment, BGAC has successfully performed assembly operations for 15 different automobile brands, more than any other assemblers in the country. In 2015, Bangchan General Assembly Co., Ltd. established Phranakron Free-Zone, In 2016, Bangchan General Assembly Co., Ltd. started to assemble Foton Pick-up trucks at the Phranakron Free-Zone.
